The
historic Worthen House, established in 1898, has
served generations of Lowell residents and visitors
since then. Enjoy the ambience of the Worthen while
you contemplate the notable persons who have patronized
this 1834 building over the years, including "beat
generation" writers Allen Ginsberg and Jack
Kerovac (a Lowell native), journalist Jimmy Breslin,
poet Edgar Alan Poe and others. Four specials a
day and a regular far of club, charbroiled and submarine
sandwiches, wraps, steak tips, burgers, hot dogs,
chicken and fries topped off with a drink make a
visit to the Worthen a frequent and necessary addition
to a day in historic Lowell.
